Dear Judge Henry Kantor,
My name is Heather, I am writing on behalf of my good friend Audrey. I have known her for going on ten years now. I met her when she graciously volunteered her time to help at a fund raising event in my honor. Many times she gave some of her time to volunteer as a merchandise girl at the event. (It was done each year) I didn't even know her the first time she was a friend of a friend and yet she showed up ready to help a disabled struggling stranger. Her volunteer job was to handle money and merchandise often a couple hundred dollars. She never once stole anything, stealing is not in her nature.
She is a very artistic and sensitive person who wouldn't hurt anyone and above all would never commit the crime she has been accused of. She is an artist who loves to create wonderful works of art. She is a mother a wife and good friend. To anyone who knows Audrey this has all come as a complete shock because we KNOW she isn't guilty and would never do any of this. She has excellent character and would help anyone. She is known by dozens of communities and is adored by anyone who is fortunate enough to know her.
I think I speak for all who know her (and there are many of us) when I say that this is a horrible miscarriage of justice on very shaky evidence. We all have to wonder if she was accused simply because of her alternative appearance which is not justice and isn't right.
I have seen Audrey at her most stressed and when life has been cruel to her one too many times, at no point did she ever break any law. She did her best on her own two feet and still helps other people when she can. Audrey never has been a thief and never will be. I would be happy to stand up for her character and say she is a thoughtful person who is easy to get along with and above all doesn't deserve this gross miscarriage of justice. I will join in with her many friends that will not just let this happen without standing up and saying whole heartedly she is innocent and would never rob anyone and this is absolutely wrong.
